My name is Treva Johnson and I am the Talent Development teacher at Torrence Creek and Oakdale Elementary. This year will be my seventeenth year teaching . Previously, I was a science teacher on the Middle School level. I began my teaching career at Pioneer Middle in Cooper City, Florida. In 2003, I moved to Charlotte to continue working on the Middle School Level. As a Talent Development teacher I will be collaborating with classroom teachers and working with small groups of students to best differentiate for the students' abilities, learning styles, and interests.
I received my B.S. in Biology at Claflin University. After working in the school system, I began my graduate work in Counseling Psychology. I had the opportunity to earn my M.S. at Capella University. I didn't finish my studies there, I began another graduate program in Public Health. I earned my M.P.H at Walden University. I have advanced my learning and received my license in AIG from Wingate University.
Every day, I look forward to creating valuable learning experiences for our students. Providing children with the necessary resources and then allowing them to make their own discoveries empowers them. With each discussion, project, and experiment, I see our students growing intellectually, socially, and emotionally. I'm looking forward to a spectacular year together filled with intellectual stimulation, creative sparks, and academic rigor!
